Don't read too much into the "AMG Package". To my knowledge it's just wheels and some trim. But the CLS is pretty so it gets my vote.

Maintenance for that V12 is $$$$$ but to be honest I've been looking for a decent well kept S65 for a while now so I'd go with the S600. :) plus black SUCKS, will never own another black car, such a bitch to keep clean and scratch free.

Yep. I don't care of that AMG package.
There's no mercedes allowed to wear that badge unless a real AMG tuned one.

Nah. The V12 only drinks gazillion of fuel. The rest is fine.
The only expensive repairs that I ever done is Seatbelt extensior. There's also a Transmission rebuilds that cost 7.5k, but luckily the previous pwner did it to me.

The newer one, right?
My neighbor has one. But he already sold it because it was too loud.

I must be thinking of a turbo replacement job for the S65 then. Thats good that it already has a rebuilt trans, I suggest you go with the s600. Is it kept in good condition, garaged and such?

"Too loud" ... hm. Well, that's an easy one. Exhaust swap and you're ready to go.
That said, I still love the sound of the earlier *55 Kompressor.

Well, the S600 is my car for now. The CLS belongs to my friend that borrow my car for his marriage car. His future wife wants a blue car, and he want a mercedes, so he lent mine.
Then, he ask me "If you love the CLS, keep it. And I'll happily drive your W140"
He also have an SL600 and CLK500. I want his CLK tough..

Well, couple that with AMG exhaust. It's sounded really nice.
But the problem was, I feel my S600 is really heavy. The CLS is more agile.

Let me put it this way: Why go around stuff (CLS) if you can intimidate it and make it go out of your way (W140)? :D

Ya.
Too bad he don't really like fiddling with his car and bought an A6 Coupe instead.

Well, he said the CLK is is his first mercedes. He can't let her go..
And I love my S600. It's like driving a giant locomotive everyday. Plus fuels in here is only 2.6 bucks per gallon, so it's not that expensive to own S600 in my country.

So A4 . ;)
To be fair, Audis are probably the most similar-looking cars of any make.

Ya, A4.
And ya, they are. Especially the older models that made in the early 2000, it's look really bland.
And I love it, especially the A8 with W12 engine. Ultimate Sleeper.

So ... if you consider giving the W140 away for a CLS, have you ever tried the A8(L) W12? Even the V8 should be good for some decent shove.

then i would keep it. Theres no sense in letting go of a car that you love, you might regret it. Plus I'd feel like a Boss in a LWB old V12 S-class, and im sure you know the feeling.

Ya, but..
I also love the CLS. More agile, more faster, more power, and a bit better to look at.
And the S-Class is more enjoyable if you sit in the back. The steering is a bit lazy, designed with autobahn in mind.

Its completely your decision, I'm just going by my opinion, if you want something a bit more modern and sporty then trade for the CLS, its a beautiful car to look at. See if you can drive the CLS for a week and then make your decision.

The CLS is pointless to me. S600 is just a boss car. Big car, big engine. A car with four doors is not a coupe. Yeah the CLS is newer, but it still is silly. If the S600 is well kept thats the one I'd go for.

Well, at first I think it's a bit stupid. It's like mercedes charge you more for removing the door and put it again.
But it's really nice car.
Handles better than my W140. And I love it.
But I love.my W140 too..

The CLS is the sportier of the two. So it really comes down to what type of ride you're looking for. Each car has it's merits. I'd check mbworld.org for owner experiences on the two cars.

CLS all the way. That much newer makes a HUUUUUUGE difference, and black is way better.

Also, from your responses, it sounds like you really want the CLS. Do something different, get something newer, have more sportiness and modern tech along with less chance of bad things in the history, and never look back.

From your responses, it sounds like you want the CLS too, so get it. Have less chance of a big fuck up in the history, a much newer car with better tech, a better and more efficient engine and something waaaaay prettier, and never look back.
